Rear Seat Belt Roller With Tensioner

CEB. Replacement Of A Rear Seat Belt

CEB1. Preparation






Check that the customer has left the radio security code.


WARNING! Before assembling, turn the ignition to position II Then connect the battery negative lead.Before connecting the battery, make sure that nobody is inside the car.


Make a note of any radio code.
Ignition off.
Disconnect the battery negative lead.

Disassembly

CEB2. Removal of the seat belt roller end and seat belt lock






Remove:
The rear seat.
1 screw from the seat belt roller end
1 screw from the seat belt lock.

Installing
When installing the screws, torque setting = 48 Nm (35 ft-lb).



CEB3. Removal of guiding strip below roll bar panel







Remove:
Rearshelf.
2 screws from the front edge of the guiding strip
2 screws from the back edge of the guider and the guiding strip
The strip by angling the guiding strip and passing the seat belt tongues and guides through the slots.

Installation
When installing the screws, torque setting = 48 Nm (35 if-lb).



CEB4. Removal of seat belt rail with tensioner






WARNING! Make sure the battery is disconnected before disconnecting or connecting the ignition wire connector. Never use an ohmmeter or any other charged measuring instrument on a disconnected, unreleased seat belt tensioner. There is a risk that it could be released.


Removal:
Disconnect the ignition wire connector (1) from the seat belt tensioner
Remove 1 screw (2) from the seat belt roller with tensioner.


WARNING! After a crash, always replace both guides with screws, seat belt rollers with tensioners and seat belt locks even if nobody was in the passenger seat.


Installation
When installing the screw,torque setting = 48 Nm (35 ft-lb).


WARNING! Do not disassemble or repair the seat belt tensioner or install it in another vehicle.



CEB5. Check position of piston in seat belt tensioner






Put a steel wire in the tube on the seat belt tensioner as shown in the figure. Check the position of the piston in the seat belt tensioner.

Piston in position A:
The seat belt tensioner is released. Replace both seat belt rollers with tensioners.

Piston in position B:
The seat belt tensioner is unreleased.

CEB6. Assemble in reverse order
