Checking the reversing light (1)

Checking the relay
Check relay 2/80 operation by activating and deactivating the relay several times. The relay is working if a clicking noise is heard when activating and deactivating.
If the relay is not working, replace it with a new relay.

Is there a fault?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking the wires and components

Checking the wires and components
Check the fuse 11D/4 is intact.
Check that the reversing lamp bulbs are intact.
Check the wires between fuse 11D/4 2 and relay 2/80 5 and relay 2/80 3 and left and right upper lamp body contact 3 for an open circuit as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and short circuit to ground as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check wire between left and right upper lamp body connector 1 and ground point for an open circuit as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Do the necessary corrective action.
