CHECKING THE GROUND TERMINAL FOR THE REAR ELECTRONIC MODULE (REM)

Checking the ground terminal



- Ignition off
- Control module disconnected
- Switch off all equipment that takes power from the battery (courtesy lighting, radio etc).

Connect the breakout box.

Connect an ohmmeter between terminal #B21 on the breakout box and the battery negative terminal.

The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohm.

- To connect the breakout box, Rear Electronic Module (REM)

Is the value OK?
Yes - Testing Complete.
No - Continue below.


Checking for open-circuits, contact resistance and oxidation



Check ground terminal 31/72 and the wiring connected to it. Check for an open-circuit. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.


Verification



- Ignition off
- Control module disconnected.
- Switch off all equipment that takes power from the battery (courtesy lighting, radio etc).

Connect an ohmmeter between terminal #B21 on the breakout box and the battery negative terminal.

The ohmmeter should read 0 ohms.

Is the value OK?
Yes - Testing Complete
No - Continue below.


Fault-tracing information
The fault should be diagnosed and remedied.
Since this is not the case the fault-tracing process has failed.
