A. RECALL CAMPAIGN 110 DESCRIPTION
Volvo Cars of North America, LLC and Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. have determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists in the engine cooling fan of certain model year 1999 Volvo S80 vehicles.
Under certain circumstances, in some affected vehicles, excessive heat may be generated. Should this occur, the engine cooling fan components may overheat, and could cause melting of the electrical connections and adjacent components.
The corrective action consists of replacing the engine cooling fan with one of modified design. Approximately 23,292 vehicles in the US and 1,761 vehicles in Canada are affected.
