A. RECALL CAMPAIGN 99 DESCRIPTION

Volvo Cars of North America, Inc. and Volvo Cars of Canada, Ltd. have determined that, over a period of time, the ball joint located between the front wheel spindle and the suspension link arm may experience increased play, which could affect its durability and performance on certain model year 1999 and 2000 S80 vehicles. On all vehicles affected by this recall, both front ball joints will be replaced with a reinforced version.

Approximately 49,526 vehicles in the US and 2,794 vehicles in Canada are affected. All owners of these affected vehicles will by notified by mail beginning the week of September 13, 2000.
