Programming New Control Module
Programming a new control module
Checking the programmed values
Before replacing a control module, the data programmed into the old module must be read off.
This is carried out in VIDA car communication under the title Reading off Programmed Values.
Read off and note the programmed values.
After replacement, the current data must be programmed into the new control module.
Model year 2003-: For cars with an integrated ignition key / remote control
The head of the integrated ignition key / remote control ( see illustration) contains functions for both the immobilizer and the remote control. This means that for a new unprogrammedignition key / remote control both the immobilizer control module and VGLA control module must be programmed with the functions for the immobilizer and remote control. After this procedure, order the software package to program the ignition key. However the immobilizer control module is still limited to storing a maximum of six keys. The VGLA control module is restricted to three remote controls.
