Extended seat rails driver's seat, replacing

Removal

Preparations
Remove the driver's seat. See (-1999) or Front seat, replacing Front Seat, Replacing (2000-).

Right-hand side




Remove the seat belt anchorage.





Remove
- the spring clip for the interlock bracket
- the mounting bracket for lengthwise adjustment
- disconnect the wiring from the center plate.




Remove the 2 screws from the center plate.




- Remove the nuts and washers for the seat rail
- Detach the front mounting for the seat rail and release the mounting
- Remove the gas strut
- Remove the seat rail.

Remove
- the switch with the buzzer. See Switch with buzzer, replacing Service and Repair
- the clamps for the seat belt anchorage.

Left-hand side
- Release the right-hand seat rail as above (right-hand side)
- Detach the wiring from the center plate. Leave the rear nut and washer in place
- Angle the right-hand seat rail forwards
- Remove the nuts and washers for the left-hand seat rail
- Pull off the front mounting and let the rail drop downwards
- Remove the gas strut
- Remove the seat rail.

Installation

Left and right
In reverse order

Tightening torque
The screws for the driver's seat. Tighten to 40 Nm.
