Checking the control module
- Switch off the ignition.
- Disconnect the breakout box if this has not already been done.
- Connect the control module again.
- Switch on the ignition.
The ABS warning lamp must light when the ignition is switched to position II. It should go out after 4 seconds, or when the engine is started.
Hint: The lamp does not go out if the control module has detected a fault.
Is the function of the ABS warning lamp OK?
Yes - Checking contact resistance and oxidation
No - No Fault Found

- The fault was caused by poor contact in the control module or combined instrument panel connectors.
Check the control module connector and combined instrument panel connectors for contact resistance and oxidation. Remedy according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault , Section 5 (50-59), Brakes, 1996-.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.
