Checking the fluid level switch
Note! Check that the fluid level is correct. If not fill to the correct level.
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connector from the fluid level switch
Connect an ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 2 on the fluid level switch.
The ohmmeter should read an infinite value.
OK - Checking the ABS control module
Not OK - Replacing the component

- Disconnect the ABS control module.
- Ignition on.
Has the lamp gone out?
Yes - Replacing the component
No - Checking the cable

Replace the fluid level switch.
Continue - Verification

There is no short-circuit to ground in the cable between the combined instrument panel and control module connectors.
Replace the control module.

Check the cable between ABS control module terminal 26, brake fluid switch connector terminal 2 and combined instrument panel connector B terminal: 14 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:
- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Check that the lamp lights when the ABS control module carries out the lamp check. The lamp must light and go out after approximately 2 seconds.
Does the lamp light for 2 seconds?
Yes - VERIFIED
No - VERIFICATION FAILED
