Replacing the water pump

Removal

Note! The water pump can be replaced without removing the heater from the car.

Preparations




Remove the lower air baffle.
Turn the left front wheel to the left.
Release the fender liner at the bumper and the nut on the body.
Bend the fender liner out of the way.

Install hose clamps on both the hoses connected to the water pump.
Position a container under the water pump to collect the coolant.
Undo the hoses and disconnect the connector at the water pump.
Remove the screw holding the water pump to the bracket.
Remove the water pump holder.

Note! Note the position of the holder on the water pump.

Installation

Install in reverse order.

Final check
Test run the heater. Check the function of the heater according to Test running the additional heater / parking heater Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
Check both the coolant hoses and the fuel lines for leakage.
Top up the coolant if necessary.
Check that no diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) have been stored during the repair work.
