-------------------------------------------------
Connecting the breakout box to the DSA control module
- Ignition off.
- Expose the DSA control module.
- Remove the control module from the holder.
- Disconnect the control module.
- Check that the male and female terminals in the control module and the control module connector are intact and secure. Check that the wiring to the female terminals is properly secured to the pins.
- In particular, check the terminal pins relevant to the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) / symptom.
Connect adapter 981 3194 Replaced by 9511495 981 3194 Replaced by 951 1495 (the 16-pin terminal) to the control module connector (wiring side). Connect breakout box 981 3190 Replaced by 9511428 981 3190 Replaced by 951 1428 to the adapter.
Hint: DSA control module terminals 1 - 16 correspond to terminals 31 - 46 on the breakout box.
Select Continue.
Continue - Checking the ground terminal

Checking the ground terminal
- Ignition off.
- DSA control module disconnected.
- Switch off all equipment that takes power from the battery (courtesy lighting, radio etc.).
Connect an ohmmeter between the battery negative terminal and 39 (#9) on the breakout box.
The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohms.
OK - Return to the fault-tracing procedure where it was interrupted.
No Fault Found
Not OK - Checking for an open-circuit
-------------------------------------------------
Checking for an open-circuit
Check the cable between DSA control module terminal 9 and engine control module (ECM) terminal 31 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring And Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Note! The DSA control module is grounded via the engine control module (ECM) ground terminals.
Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.
