Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection

Special tools:
999 7109 Wrench 999 7109 Wrench

Check

Checking the crankcase ventilation





Remove:
- the oil filler cap
- the charge air hose between the turbocharger and the charge air pipe over the engine
- the crankcase ventilation hose.
Blow compressed air into the hose toward the oil trap.

Install:
- the crankcase ventilation hose with a newclamp
- the charge air hose.




Remove the bracket between the power steering pump and the intake manifold.
Detach the cable clip.
Remove the connector assembly from the bracket.




Turn the screw on the belt tensioner clockwise/turn the belt tensioner clockwise. Use 999 7109 Wrench 999 7109 Wrench
Remove the poly-V belt from the pump and put it aside.




Remove the retaining screws between the spokes of the belt pulley.
Move the pump toward the power steering fluid reservoir.




Detach the hose from the nipple on the intake pipe.
Clean the nipple with a piece of welding wire.
Blow the hose clean with compressed air.




Position the power steering pump in the bracket.
Position the mounting and retaining screws on the front and tighten by hand.
Tighten all screws to 25 Nm.




Install the bracket and tighten the screws to 25 Nm.

Fasten:
- the connector on the bracket
- the cable in the clip.




Position the poly-V belt.
Install the belt tensioner.
Check that the belt is properly installed.
