Possible source
- Open-circuit in one of the signal cables to or from the wiper / washer switch, in the power supply to the tailgate wiper motor, in the power supply to the parking position switch for the tailgate wiper motor or in the ground cable from the tailgate wiper motor.
- Contact resistance and oxidation.
- Defective wiper / washer switch.

- The rear windshield wiper motor does not operate.
