Checking Interference from the Upper Electronic Module
Checking interference from the upper electronic module
Checking the component
Note! This check only applies to chassis number 1-116810.
Interference from the upper electronic module can take the form of a "helicopter-like sound" in the audio system. This is due to a long ground lead which in some cases can act as an antenna.
The problem can be remedied by replacing the older type of front interior lighting with a new type of front interior lighting with a ground lead (1) as illustrated.
Note! When installing ensure that the ground lead is not clamped between the clips and the roof. See the markings in the illustration.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To access the interior lighting, see Courtesy lighting, front, replacing Courtesy Lighting, Front, Replacing.
