Signal Too High. Intermittent Fault
Signal too high. Intermittent fault
Checking the relay
Check that the relay is securely connected and for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults and the relay for loose connections according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
The following applies only in the event of an open-circuit in the cable:
Hint: The fault may have caused by contact resistance, oxidation or loose connections in the supply to the relay. The voltage must be 12 V at both terminals #1 and #5 for relay 2/91. The voltage must be 12 V at terminal #1 for relay 2/90. Check fuse 11B/13 in the integrated relay/fusebox in the engine compartment in particular.
Using the table below, check the cable between the central electronic module (CEM) and the windshield wiper relay for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults and for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Check the connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults and for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
