Signal Too High

Signal too high

Checking for permanent or intermittent faults
Simulate the door closing by pressing in the striker plate in the lock and check to see if door warning lamp goes off.

Does door warning lamp go off?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Checking for a short circuit

-------------------------------------------------

Checking for a short circuit
Check the wire between door control unit 7A and door warning lamp 1 for a short circuit to voltage supply as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the wire between door warning lamp 2 and the ground point for a short circuit to voltage supply as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
If a fault is found, replace the wire.
If wire is OK: Test with a new door warning lamp.

Additional information:
- With ignition on and door open but striker plate in door depressed, voltage between control unit 7 (to door warning lamp) and ground should be 0 V
- To connect the test box, see Connecting the breakout box Connecting the Breakout Box
- For information on signals and additional values, see Signal specification Signal Specification, Driver Door Module (DDM) / Passenger Door Module (PDM)
- To access the door control unit, see Driver's door module / passenger door module (DDM/PDM), replacing Driver's Door Module/Passenger Door Module (DDM/PDM), Replacing
- To access/replace door warning lamp, see Bulb, warning lamp, side door, replacing Service and Repair.
