Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) PHM-001B is stored if the keypad unit/car-phone module registers that there is a short-circuit to ground in the power supply to the handset.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the handset power supply.

Fault symptom[s]
- Handset does not operate.
- Combined instrument panel message that the handset is not functioning.
