Check CD-ROM player connector K and road traffic information module (RTI) connector A. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Remedy if necessary. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the wiring between road traffic information module (RTI) terminals #A7, #A19 and #A20 and the CD-ROM player terminals #K3, #K4 and #K5. Check for an open-circuit. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for a short-circuit to ground. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

No - Replacing the component

Replace the CD-ROM player because an internal fault has been found.

- Ignition off.
- Reinstall connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
- Activate System test function to test CD-ROM player, see System Test System Test.
Check if CD-ROM player is OK or not. If the CD-ROM player functions OK is displayed.
