Key Reminder Switch: Service and Repair

Replacing switch key reminder steering column

Removing switch key reminder




- Remove the panel under the dashboard on the drivers side
- Disconnect the courtesy lighting wiring
- Remove the screws (3x)
- Carefully remove the two steering covers.




- Turn ignition to position 0
- Remove the three steering wheel connectors
- Remove the switch connector from the locking
- Remove two screws and take the switch from the steering column.

Checking switch key reminder




- Measure the resistance:
- switch open: ∞ ohms
- switch pushed in: ± 0 ohms.
- Check when the key is pushed in the ignition that the bracket is moved inside ignition column.

Installing switch key reminder




- Position switch and install the two screws
- Install switch connector and install the three connectors
- Install key and check function key reminder
- Install carefully the two steering column covers
- Connect courtesy lighting wiring
- Install panel under the dashboard.
