CEM-1A57

Condition
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) CEM-1A57 is stored if the central electronic module registers that communication with the road traffic information (RTI) control module is not operating.

Hint: Downloading software from a DVD/CD can cause the communication between the RTI (road traffic information) and central electronic module to disappear while downloading is taking place. The central electronic module can interpret this as the RTI stopping functioning and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 1A57 is stored. If downloading has occurred erase the diagnostic trouble codes, if not fault trace.

Possible source
- No power supply to the RTI control module
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open-circuit in the control area network (CAN) bus
- Defective road traffic information (RTI) control module.

Condition
- Traffic information is not displayed or updated
- The RTI is not working
- The display screen does not deploy.
