DTC ECM-300A
Condition
When the engine speed (RPM) exceeds 500 rpm, the control module calculates that the camshaft position (CMP) sensor should make 5 flanker changes for each crankshaft revolution. 19 miscounts can be made within a 200 rpm interval before the engine control module (ECM) interprets it as a fault and ECM-300A is stored.
Substitute value
Uses the engine speed (RPM) sensor if it functions.
Possible source
Faulty signal
- Intermittent open-circuit in wiring or splices
- Incorrectly adjusted camshafts
- Defective camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
