DTC ECM-9150
Condition
Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) ECM-9150 (signal throttle position (TP) sensor 1) or ECM-9160 (signal throttle position (TP) sensor 2) are stored if the electronic throttle module (ETM) detects that the signal from the throttle position (TP) sensor is implausibly high or low for a certain amount of time.
Substitute value
- the accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking.
If diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) ECM-9150 and 9160 are stored together:
- the electronic throttle module (ETM) in mechanical limp home mode, the throttle disc in the fixed position.
- the engine speed (RPM) is limited using fuel shut off. The maximum permitted engine speed depends on the accelerator pedal (AP) position.
Possible source
- power supply for the electronic throttle module (ETM)
- faulty software in the electronic throttle module (ETM)
- contaminated electronic throttle module (ETM) (oil film, dust etc.)
- defective electronic throttle module (ETM).
Fault symptom[s]
- the accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking
- the cruise control is not functioning at all
- uneven idle
- jerks during engine braking.
