Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.
Continue - Verification
-------------------------------------------------
Checking the pump motor
Temporarily connect an unfused cable between the pump motor connector:
- terminal #2 and the battery positive terminal
- terminal #1 and the battery negative terminal.
The motor should start when the cable is connected to the battery. Run for a maximum of 10 seconds.
Remove the temporarily connected cables.
Does the pump motor start and operate normally?
Yes - Checking the pump motor
No - Checking for an open-circuit in the cable
-------------------------------------------------

Signal faulty. Permanent fault
Checking pump motor function
- Ignition off.
- Check control unit and pump motor connectors for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
- Ignition on.
- Activate the pump motor.
Check that the pump motor starts and appears to work normally.
If the pump motor starts and appears to work normally, the fault has been caused by contact resistance and oxidation in the connector of either the control unit or pump motor.
Additional information:
- For disconnection of the control unit and pump motor see Replacing the control module for ABS and dynamic stability and traction control (DSTC) Replacing the Control Module for ABS and Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC).
