Checking Component and Wiring

Checking Component And Wiring

Check the brake pedal sensor resistance between #2 and #4, for resistance values see Brake pedal sensor.

Check signal cable between engine control module (ECM) #B16 (#B28) and brake pedal sensor #2 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring terminals. Permanent faults and an open-circuit according to Checking wiring terminals. Permanent faults.

Remedy as necessary.

Other information:
- To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the breakout box
- For information about signals, see Signal specification.
- With the ignition on and the brake pedal sensor connector disconnected, the voltage between brake pedal sensor #2 (engine control module (ECM) side) and ground should be approximately 5 V.
- With the brake pedal sensor connector disconnected, brake pedal sensor #1 (engine control module (ECM) side) should be connected to ground.
