If the central electronic module (CEM) registers that communication with the steering wheel module (SWM) does not work, diagnostic trouble code CEM-1A5B is displayed.

Possible source
- No power supply to SWM control unit
- Contact resistance in the connectors
- Open circuit on the CAN bus
- Defective SWM control unit.

Condition
- Cruise control does not work at all
- Can not be operated with remote control
- Wiper only works on lowest speed
- Flasher does not work.
