Is the breakout box connected to the control module?

Yes - DONE

No - Connecting the breakout box, central electronic module (CEM)

- Connect the breakout box according to Connecting the breakout box Connecting The Breakout Box. Central Electronic Module (CEM).

- Ignition off.
- Control module disconnected.
- Turn of all equipment in the car that takes power from the battery (the interior lighting and radio etc).
Connect an ohmmeter between #A1 on the breakout box and the battery negative terminal.









The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohms.

OK - Checking the control module power supply

Not OK - Checking for an open-circuit, contact resistance and oxidation

Check the ground terminal and the cables between the ground terminals and control module connector B2 #1 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the ground lead between the battery and the bodywork for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Checking the control module power supply




- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between #A1 and:
- #A31 on the breakout box
- #B10 on the breakout box
- #B27 on the breakout box









The voltmeter should read battery voltage for all readings

OK - No Fault Found

Not OK - Checking the power supply

- Ignition off.
Check that fuse 4 in the central electrical unit in the engine compartment is intact.
Check the cable between control module connector B1 #1 (#A31) and fuse 4 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check that fuse 14 the central electrical unit in the engine compartment is intact.
Check the cable between control module connector F #10 (#B10) and fuse 14 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check that fuse 6 the central electrical unit in the engine compartment is intact.
Check the cable between control module connector P #7 (#B27) and fuse 6 for an open-circuit or short-circuits according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.
