Checking the park/neutral position (PNP) switch




- Ignition off
- Disconnect the 10-pin transmission connector.
Check the cable between the gear-shift position sensor and terminals #1 and #4 on the 10-pin transmission connector. Check for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the resistance between terminals #1 and #4 on the 10-pin transmission connector. The resistance should be 0 ohms with the gear selector in positions P and N and infinite in positions P, D, 4, 3 and L
