DTC ECM-951F

Condition
The engine control module (ECM) has registered a fault in the pulse width modulated (PWM) signal from the accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor via the electronic throttle module to the engine control module (ECM). Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-951F is stored in the engine control module (ECM).

Substitute value
- the accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking
- the cruise control cannot be activated.

Possible source
- loose connections or contact resistance in the terminals on the digital pulse width modulated signal cable
- interference on the CAN signal wiring
- fault in the pulse width modulated signal cable between the engine control module (ECM) and the throttle unit
- defective accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor
- defective throttle unit.

Fault symptom[s]
- the accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking
- the cruise control cannot be activated
- the ETS warning lamp lights (C70 and S/V70 -2000 only).
