- Read off the DTC status. Check the status of the relevant Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).





Was the status of the relevant Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) displayed as permanent?

Yes - Checking wiring and components

No - Intermittent fault

Checking wiring and connectors
Check the signal cable between control module #B29 (#B41) and outside temperature sensor terminal 1 for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.

Checking wiring and components
Check the resistance of the outside temperature sensor. Compare with table in link below.
Check the signal cable between control module connector #B29 (#B41) and outside temperature sensor terminal 1 for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault

Hint: With the ignition on and outside temperate sensor connector disconnected the voltage between terminal 1 and ground terminal should be approximately 5 V.

Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- Ignition on.
- Read off outside temperature.
