Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition

If Engine control module (ECM) registers that the signal from the clutch pedal position sensor is:
- Lower than 1.60 V for longer time than 0.45 seconds, then ECM-9300, Too low signal, is stored.
- Higher than 4.84 V for longer time than 0.45 seconds, then ECM-9300, Too high signal, is stored.
- Between 4.64 V and 4.84 V for longer time than 0.45 seconds, then ECM-9300, Faulty signal, is stored.
For upgraded software, released during year 2006 or later, the fault type Faulty signal is no longer necessary and therefore has been removed. With regards to detection times for the other fault types, these are increased from 0.45 to 10 seconds.

- Design Description and Operation

Substitute value

Cruise control off.
Cruise control off during entire operating cycle in which fault was detected.

Possible source

Signal too high:
- Open circuit on signal cable.
- Open-circuit in the ground lead.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- damaged clutch pedal sensor.

Signal too low:
- short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- damaged clutch pedal sensor.

Faulty signal:
- incorrectly installed clutch pedal sensor
- damaged clutch pedal sensor.
This diagnostic trouble code is generated in combination with other trouble codes. Information on the possible root cause is described.

Fault symptom[s]
- Electronic throttle system (ETS) warning lamp lights.
- Cruise control does not function at all.
- Switch to gas power not possible.
