Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The control modules communicate with each other in a network via a standardized serial communication procedure - CAN (Controller Area Network) - to exchange information. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated if the engine control module (ECM) registers that the software does not correspond with the other vehicle configurations, which results in the engine control module (ECM) being unable communicate with the other control modules.
