Removal

Conditions





Caution! Before replacing control module, it's important to read out how the old control module is programmed. This is done in VIDA Vehicle communication. Read out and note the programmed values.After replacement, the data in question shall be programmed in the new control module. If values cannot be read out, ask your nearest manager/sales company/customer so that the new control module gets the same configuration as the old control module.

- Note any radio code and indicator reading.
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the battery's negative cable.

Removing driver information module





Remove:
- screws (2 pcs.) (A) from the steering column's underside. Lower the steering column
- screws (B)
- casing around the driver information module





Caution! During transport and handling, the driver information module must never be placed or held with the glass facing down.

- Remove the driver information module's three self-tapping attaching screws.
- Pull the driver information module straight out approx. 10 cm so that you can access and disconnect the two green connectors on the back.
- Remove the driver information module.

Installation

Installing driver information module




- Reinstall the driver information module so that you can access and connect the two green connectors.
- Install the driver information module. Secure the three self-tapping attaching screws that hold the driver information module.




- Install the rim around the instrument panel. Tighten the screws (B).
- Tighten all steering column screws with 15 Nm.




- Ignition on.
- Reconnect the battery's ground cable. Check functions.
- Reset any radio code.
- Reset the clock.

Programming

Note! A new non-programmed driver information module will not work until it's programmed.

In case of new outside temperature sensor and temperature display is installed, proceed as follows:
Program function for showing temperature which is done via VIDA vehicle communication.
For installation of new display for trip computer, proceed as follows:
Order the software. See 9139885.
For installation of new cable plate (control module) with instrument, proceed as follows:
Order the software. See 9139884.

Finishing

Check that:
- the driver information module works. Check that temperature display or trip computer function works correctly if these functions have been programmed.
- no diagnostic trouble codes have been stored during troubleshooting / repair.
