- Ignition on.
Warning! The battery must supply sufficient voltage throughout the transfer.A battery charger should therefore be connected to the vehicle throughout the transfer process.
Warning! Leave VCT 2000 connected to the vehicle until VIDA displays that the program transfer is complete.
If the transfer is interrupted (this may occur if the connection between VCT 2000 and the vehicle is broken or if the battery discharges), the status of the control module may be indefinable. It is normally sufficient to switch the ignition on and off and to then try programming again to return to normal function.
In some cases it may be necessary to disconnect the control module and then switch of the ignition to return to normal function.
Caution! It is important that correct chassis number is supplied when ordering software. If an incorrect chassis number is supplied, the software may contain incorrect PIN codes. This will mean that the control module cannot be programmed. If programming fails, even though the correct software has been ordered, there may be an incorrect PIN code stored in VITaL.

Information about upgrade of combined instrument for fuel level indication
Note! This programming can not be carried out on a new unprogrammed combined instrument panel. Exit. Order the correct software package for a new combined instrument panel.
This upgrade will improve Full tank indicationand Low fuel warning function. The problems can have following observable symptoms:
- Needle in fuel gauge does not show full after refill.
- Low fuel warning level is too high.
- Can only add 11.5 to 12.5 US gallon of fuel after a low fuel warning.
Depending of which symptom are to be solved, different settings in the combined instrument panel shall be changed. Therefore select one of below alternatives (symptoms) and related buttons.
Alternatives (symptoms):
1. Needle in fuel gauge does not show full after refill.
2. Low fuel warning level is too high.
Can only add 11.5 to 12.5 US gallon of fuel after a low fuel warning.
3. Exit upgrade.
Caution! For alternative 1, before start of this upgrade the fuel tank must be full (filled up according to customer filling method). For alternative 2, ensure that the refill is done as short as possible after the Low fuel warning lamp was activated and check that the amount of fuel that could be added is 11.5 to 12.5 US gallon.

Checking the fuel level sensor resistance
Caution! Before measuring the resistance, the fuel tank must be full (filled up according to customer filling method).
The fuel needle position can be corrected by changing two different settings. To be able to select correct method the resistance in fuel level sensor must be checked.
There are two alternatives to check the resistance, one by reading out the calculated resistance from the combined instrument panel. Another is to measure the resistance at the fuel level sensor. Read out the calculated resistance first. If the resistance is wrong, measure the resistance at the level sensor to identify the error.
Reading out resistance
Click the VCT2000 symbol to read off the value.
There are four different values for the resistance (four displays). The values are not sampled at the same time which means, if the values are not the same the fuel level are moving in the tank. Wait until all values has the same resistance. The values are automatically updated every 5 seconds.
The readout value can differ from the the measured value with a maximum of 0.250 ohms due to resistance in cable harness.
Measure the resistance at fuel level sensor
Access and disconnect the fuel level sensor connector.
Check the fuel level sensor resistance between terminal A and terminal C in the fuel level sensor connector.
Note! The graphic shows an YM -2000 fuel level sensor. For YM 2001- the top of the level sensor is slightly modified, still with same connector.
The resistance shall be less then 10.4 ohms. If the resistance is more then 10.4 ohms, this upgrade is not relevant.
Select one of the following alternatives:
1. The resistance is morethan 6 ohms but lessthan 10.4 ohms.
2. The resistance is lessthan 6 ohms.
3. Exit upgrade.
