Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators: Service Precautions
Taking Ohmmeter/Voltmeter Readings
NOTE: When taking readings on male/female lead connections on connectors or relay plinths, be careful to ensure that no damage is caused to lead shoes or electrical faults arise in the system.
Follow the instructions in the step carefully when taking readings. Note which position the ignition should be in, whether an ohmmeter or voltmeter is required and what position readings should be taken in.
Place the ohmmeter/voltmeter test leads carefully against the lead ends.
Never push a test pin into a lead shoe.
NOTE: To avoid damage, it may be better to take readings on connectors from behind.
