DTC ECM-7170

Condition







The engine control module (ECM) checks the signal to the cooling fan motor for the control modules.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-7170 is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if the engine control module (ECM) registers a fault in the signal.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-7170 can be diagnosed when the ignition is on or when the engine is running.

Signal too high
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Defective engine cooling fan (FC).

Signal too low
- Open-circuit in the signal cable
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- Defective engine cooling fan (FC).

- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
