Timing Components: Specifications
Tighten the center screw for the variable valve timing (VVT) unit 120 Nm
Install the center plug. Tighten 35 Nm
Tighten the center screw on the timing belt tensioner. Tighten 5 Nm
Tighten the 3 screws on the timing gear pulley for the intake camshaft 10 Nm
Tighten the 3 screws on the timing gear pulley for the exhaust camshaft 20 Nm
Install the plug with a new sealing washer. Tighten 40 Nm
Install the Vibration Damper
Tighten the center nut 180 Nm
Tighten the four screws 25 Nm
Angle-tighten 30 degrees
Spin the idler pulley and listen for noise. If replacing with a new idler pulley, tighten 24 Nm
Install the Vibration damper. Tighten the center nut to 180 Nm (132.8 lb.ft)
Remove the counterhold and install new screws.
Tighten the screws 25 Nm (18.4 lb.ft)
Angle-tighten 30 degrees
Install the new belt in the following order:
- crankshaft
- the idler pulley
- intake camshaft pulley
- exhaust camshaft pulley
- water pump
- belt tensioner.
Secure the eccentric and tighten the center screw 20 Nm (14.8 lb.ft)
The front camshaft belt cover
Tighten 12 Nm (8.9 lb.ft)
The cross member
Tighten the screws at the suspension turret 50 Nm (36.9 lb.ft)
and the screw for the engine bracket 80 Nm (59.0 lb.ft)
Center screw for the timing belt 25 Nm
Timing gear pulley
(camshafts without variable valve timing) 20 Nm
Timing gear pulley (camshafts with variable valve timing) 10 Nm
Timing cover, (front/rear) 12 Nm
Timing cover, (upper) 8 Nm
