Checking Components







- Check that the fuel tank filler cap is properly installed and that its seal is not damaged.
- Check the hoses and connections on the leak diagnostic unit, the carbon filter container, the evaporative emission system (EVAP) valve and fuel filler pipe visually for damage or loose installation.
- Remedy as necessary.

HINT: Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) caused by a loose fuel filler cap or hose connection may be difficult to find. If no leakage is detected by the control module when activating the quick test of the fuel tank system after the above checks and remedies, the fault may have been fixed.
