Note! Click here if you are working on the S80.
Checking power supply terminal
- Check fuse 11 B/3. If the fuse is blown, check the circuit after the fuse for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Check fuse 11B/1. If the fuse is blown, check the circuit after the fuse for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Check the power supply to #A70. The voltage should be approximately battery voltage.
- Check the power supply to #B11. The voltage should be approximately battery voltage.
Checking ground terminal
- Check the ground lead between engine control module (ECM) #A53, #A54 and ground terminal 31/71 on the right side member for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Check the ground terminal on the engine control module (ECM) for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
Remedy as necessary
Other information
- To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the breakout box Connecting the Breakout Box.
- Power supply to engine control module (ECM) #A70 is from fuse 11 B/3 via the system relay.
- Power supply to engine control module (ECM) #B11 is from fuse 11 B/1 via terminal 30+.
- The engine control module (ECM) ground terminal is common to engine control module (ECM) terminals #A53 and #A54.
- For information about the location of the ground terminal, see Location of components Locations.
- For information about other signals, see Signal specification Signal Description / Specification.
- For further information about the circuit, see the relevant wiring diagram.

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
Yes - FAULT-TRACING FAILED
No - Attempt New Test
