Checking the child lock motors
Activating lock motor, unlocking
- Ignition on.
- Close the rear side doors.
Activate childlock motors, locking.
The rear doors should now lock to the child proof position. It should not be possible to open them from inside the passenger compartment.
Is the function OK?
Yes - Activating childlock motor, unlocking

The rear doors should now unlock from the child proof position. It should be possible to open them from inside the passenger compartment.

Check the VGLA control module connector and the relevant childlock motor connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Rear door on the driver's side:
Check the cable between VGLA control module terminal A2 (#2) and childlock motor connector terminal 1 and the cable between VGLA control module terminal B22 (#48) and the central locking motor connector terminal 2 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Try a new childlock motor.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied as follows:
- Ignition off.
- Reconnect the connectors, reinstall components etc.
- Ignition on.
- Close the rear side doors.
Activate the childlock motors.
The rear doors should now lock to the child proof position. It should not be possible to open them from inside the passenger compartment.
