Checking components and wiring
- Ignition on
- Activate the read off of the signals from the accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor
- Check that the value for both signals is approximately 8% when the accelerator pedal (AP) is unaffected and approximately 82% when the pedal is fully depressed.
Check the engine control module (ECM) and accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor connectors. Check for contact resistance, play and oxidation.
Check the voltage supply from Engine control module (ECM) #B9 (#B19) to accelerator pedal position sensor #6.
Check the ground lead from engine control module (ECM) terminal #B5 (#B15) to accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor terminal #4.
Check the signal cable between Engine control module (ECM) #B25 (#B35) and accelerator pedal position sensor #2.
Remedy as necessary.
