Condenser Fan: Service and Repair
Condenser fan
Diesel cars
Remove/install the condenser unit
Remove the front bumper,
Unplug the connector and safety bolts and remove the whole unit.
To install, reverse the removal procedure
Tighten the bolts to 21 Nm
Remove/install the motor unit
Remove the three bolts from the fan and remove the fan.
Disconnect cables and connector.
Remove the three bolts and the motor.
Transfer rubber and spacer bushings.
Clean the shaft.
To install, reverse the removal procedure
Tighten the bolts to 15 Nm
Tighten the screws to 6 Nm
Gasoline cars
Remove/install the condenser unit
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the two upper bolts.
Loosen the lower bolt a few turns.
Turn the clamp for the coolant hose, if needed.
Turn out the unit from its place under the coolant hose and lift it out.
To install, reverse the removal procedure
Note! Check that the slotted hole is exactly under the lower bolt.
Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm
Remove/install the motor unit
Remove the nut from the fan and pull the fan off the shaft.
Disconnect cables and connector.
Remove the three nuts and the motor.
Clean the shaft.
To install, reverse the removal procedure
Tighten the nuts to 6-8 Nm.
Tighten the fan nut to 6-8 Nm.
