If the car is to be scrapped, or when replacing the steering wheel module, the passenger module, the seat belt tensioner and the front seat SIPS airbag

Handling

Warning! Non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS components must not be deployed or ignited inside the vehicle.

For disarming of non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS units, see: Non-triggered SRS components, destruction Discarding Pyrotechnic Components.
Remove Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) pyrotechnical components according to the instructions in:
- Air bag, driver's side. See Steering wheel module and steering wheel Airbag Driver's Side (SRS), Replacing
- Air bag, passenger side. See Passenger airbag module Passenger Airbag Module

Storage and transport

For temporary storage, the steering wheel module must be placed with the metal side down in a safe place. This protects the outer material.

Note! For storage for longer periods, inflatable curtains, airbag modules and pyrotechnic seat belt tensioners must be stored in their original packaging.

Note! Inflatable curtains, airbag modules and pyrotechnic seat belt tensioners must be stored and transported according to the relevant national statutory requirements.

Note! Loose IC modules should be stored in racks or another approved packaging.

Note! Inflatable curtain (IC) modules must not be exposed to temperatures above 110°C.

Inflatable curtains (IC), airbag modules and pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners, must be transported according to the relevant national statutory requirements.
