Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The control module counts the number of teeth when engine speed (RPM) exceeds 1,000 rpm. The higher the engine speed (RPM), the more the number of teeth that are allowed to be missed. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-310A is stored if control module registers a deviation in the number of teeth.
Substitute value
Uses the camshaft position (CMP) sensor if it functions.
Possible source
Faulty signal:
- intermittent open-circuit in wiring or splices
- contact resistance in the terminals
- damage to carrier plate / flywheel
- defective engine speed (RPM) sensor
- defective camshaft position (CMP) sensor.

- intermittent open-circuit in wiring or splices

- defective camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
