Active on Demand Coupling (AOC), replacing

Pay attention to the following when removing propeller shaft

Preparatory work
Remove the exhaust system. Remove the propeller shaft from the Active on Demand Coupling. See Final Drive, Replacing.

Removing the Active on Demand Coupling




Remove the connector from the differential electronic module (DEM).
Position a container underneath the AOC (Active on Demand Coupling)/final drive.
Remove the screws for the on Demand Coupling (AOC). Pull the AOC (Active on Demand Coupling) straight out from the final drive housing.

Preparations for installing the Active on Demand Coupling




Clean any dirt from the final drive housing. There must not be any lint from paper or cloths.
Check that the mating surface is undamaged.




Check that the Active on Demand Coupling mating surface is free of defects. Place the new O-ring on the Active on Demand Coupling.

Installing the Active on Demand Coupling




Install the Active on Demand Coupling on the final drive housing.
Loosely install the 4 M8 screws crosswise. Tighten alternately.
Connect the connector to the Active on Demand coupling.
Install the propeller shaft on the Active on Demand Coupling. Install the rear exhaust pipe. See Final Drive, Replacing.

Filling and checking the oil in the Active on Demand Coupling
Fill the Active on Demand Coupling with oil. Check the oil level. See Oil Pump Active On Demand Coupling (AOC), Replacing.
