Courtesy Handle, Adjust Play in Mounting.

DESCRIPTION:

If a customer complains about play in the courtesy handle, an adjustment can be performed to the courtesy handle mounting. This bulletin describes how to adjust the mounting for the courtesy handle.





MATERIALS

If a customer complaint is consistent with the above description, replace the original screws of the courtesy handle with new screws. Remove one screw at a time.

Fold down the courtesy handle. Loosen and fold up the plastic panels over the screw holes. Remove one screw.





Assemble the new screw. Make sure the screw is entered correctly in the clip and the clip is in the correct position.

Tighten to 1.6 lb-ft (2.2 Nm).

Then replace the other screw using the same method and reinstall the plastic covers. Finish by pulling on the courtesy handle to make sure it is correctly installed.
