Preparatory work

Removing bevel gear
Remove the bevel gear according to Bevel gear Bevel Gear Bevel gear Bevel Gear.

Removal

Removing the seal ring




Place the bevel gear on a workbench and support it with a wooden block.
Use: 999 7086 Puller 999 7086 Puller together with 999 7170 Guide pin 999 7170 Guide Pin.
Tap the puller sleeve into the seal so that it meets the housing plane.
Remove the seal using the puller handle.
Thoroughly check that no seal residue remains.

Draining of oil in the bevel gear




Position the bevel gear over a receptacle.
Remove the level plug and let the oil run out through the bearing.
Clean any spilled oil from the seal ring seat in the bevel gear using a lint-free cloth.

Installation

Installing the seal ring




Install: 999 7087 Drift 999 7087 Drift on the shaft end and lubricate the new seal ring lip with grease (80 g). Place the seal on the sleeve.




Tap in the seal in the bevel gear using 999 7087 Drift 999 7087 Drift together with 999 7177 Ring 999 7177 Ring. Make sure that the tool meets the bevel gear housing.
When the tool is removed, check that 999 7087 Drift 999 7087 Drift was removed with it.

Finishing

Installing the angle gear
Fit the bevel gear according to: Bevel gear Bevel Gear Bevel gear Bevel Gear.

Filling of oil
Fill new oil following Oil level bevel gear, checking, AW50/51 AWD Procedures.
