Window, front door.

Preparatory work

Adjusting the window position




Lower the window to half way.

Removal

Removing the front side window




Remove door panel. See: Panel front door Panel Front Door.
Open the 2 covers in the door cassette to access the side window mountings in the lift mechanism.

Note! Slacken off the screws by 2 turns only.

Pull the window up and out. Remove the window.

Hint: To facilitate removal of the window, pull the wiper strip straight up and remove it.

Chassis number range

Note! For S40 (04-) with chassis number -0154433 and for V50 with chassis number -0154805 replace the rear rubber lip in the window mechanism. See: Rubber protection glass clamp Rubber Protection Glass Clamp

Installation

Installing the front side window
Install the window in the lift mechanism.

Note! Make sure the window is positioned correctly in the glass channels.

Install:
- the 2 M6 screws. Tighten.
- the 2 covers
- the door panel as described in Panel front door Panel Front Door.
Initialize the window lift mechanism. See VIDA vehicle communication.
