Control Arm Upper, Replacing






Rear upper arm

Preparatory work

Remove:
- the wheel
- the spring. Rear Suspension

Removal

Removing the leak diagnostic pump
Applies only when replacing on the right-hand side:
Remove the pump for the leak diagnostic unit. Service and Repair

Removing the upper control arm




Remove the screw for the wheel spindle.





Remove:
- the screw x1 for the sub-frame
- the control arm.





Caution! Use a transmission jack to avoid damaging to the screws.

Installation

Installing the control arm

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications. Specifications

Install:
- the control arm
- the screw x1 for the sub-frame. Do not tighten yet
- the screw for the wheel spindle. Do not tighten yet.

Note! The rear suspension must be in normal position when tightening all the joints in the rear suspension where rubber bushings are involved, see Normal position Service and Repair

Tighten the screws. For tightening torques, see Specifications. Specifications.

Caution! Use a transmission jack to avoid damaging to the screws.

Installing the leak diagnostic pump
Applies only when replacing on the right-hand side:
Install the leak diagnostic pump. Service and Repair

Finishing

Install:
- the spring. Rear Suspension
- the wheel. Service and Repair
