- Ignition on.
Activate the engine cooling fan (FC).
Check that the engine cooling fan (FC) starts when activated. The fault is permanent if the engine cooling fan (FC) does not start when activated. The fault is intermittent if the engine cooling fan (FC) starts.

Check the signal cable between engine control module (ECM) #B7 (#C7) and engine cooling fan control module #1 for short-circuit to voltage.
Remedy as necessary.
