Soft Paint Peeling from CCM Control Knobs
DESCRIPTION:
The soft paint may peel from the CCM control knobs. (There are four knobs, used for radio volume, radio station tuning, climate fan speed and climate temperature control.) The root cause was found to be the use of an aggressive cleaning agent in the assembly process at the supplier. The supplier has stopped using this aggressive cleaning agent.
SERVICE:
Replace peeling knobs with new knobs as described in the instruction below. Be careful and apply pressure evenly when removing knobs to avoid damaging the inner knob. CCM knob service kit P/N 30782150 includes 4 knobs; all knobs should be changed together.
Note:
No SW download or calibration of the CCM is needed for this repair.
Remove knobs
Use tool 981 4071.
Install knobs
Install in reverse order.
